Sabarmati Express Derailment: Investigation Underway After Engine Hits Object

Sabarmati Express derailed in a block section between Kanpur and Bhimsen station.
On Saturday morning, 22 coaches of the Sabarmati Express, traveling from Varanasi to Ahmedabad, derailed between Kanpur and Bhimsen in Uttar Pradesh.
The derailment, which occurred after the engine struck an object, resulted in no injuries.
Indian Railways has provided buses to help passengers reach Kanpur and make alternative travel arrangements to Ahmedabad.
Seven trains have been cancelled, and three diverted due to the incident.
The derailment happened at 2:29 am, about 30 minutes after departing Kanpur Central. Initial reports indicate a boulder damaged the engine's cattle guard.
Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that the engine struck an object on the tracks, and an investigation by the Intelligence Bureau and Uttar Pradesh police is in progress.
